Course Objective:

  •   Determine the difference between traditional fitness programs and functionally targeted programs.

  •   Identify unique benefits of aquatic exercise for ADL training for aging adults.

  •   Examine the physical effects of aging and to complete a written task.

  •   Examine the training objectives of the Golden Waves program.

  •   Suggest modifications for 17 exercise progressions based on a condition related to aging.

  •   Examine a weekly training progression and apply the concepts to format one week of training for a specific client.

  •   Introduce ideas to help develop a teaching philosophy.

  •   Provide tools for responding to your student’s safety and medical condition.

  •   Examine field assessment protocols and review sample training results.
