Support Materials

  • The student Handbook and Workbook provided as downloadable PDF files to print at your convenience but required to be accessed either digitally or in printed format during your Face to Face tutor time. The Handbook displays versions of the original movement with note pages for your completion during and after the education.  The Workbook provides master pages to be used to assess and record the client and the sessions.  It is recommended you familiarize yourself with this material prior to attendance wherever possible.

  • No video content is provided for this education unless you have not attended MK Pilates Matwork Stages One and Two. If you have not, then you will receive two videos.  One is of the modified fundamental versions of the work from Part One and the other completes the repertoire with modifications and adaptations.

Assessment

  • Completion of a Workbook documenting and outlining 8 sessions for 1 Case Study Client. These will include details of client’s postural assessment, health and lifestyle questionnaires and their liability release dorm. The clients progress should be documented along with your observations, adaptations or alterations after the first session, and final session with a final conclusion and future development plan.

  • For each case study, you are required to take 4 photographs at or prior to the first session and repeat these at the conclusion or after the last session (Full Form - Front View, Side View Right and Left, and Rear View). Both client and student paperwork must be completed and the tutor will cover this for you.  Summarization of First, Interim and Final sessions along with conclusions must also be completed.

  • The final practical assessment may vary centre to centre but the standard is to submit a video of the eight session with the client from beginning to end.

  • Written self-evaluation of your video submission for both client’s technique and your personal teaching skills and choices along with any changes you may make based upon the observation of the video content. The suggested period for the completion of the first case study is no later than 3 months from completion of the course. Further case studios may take longer however we recommend a goal of at most 6 months for full completion of all sections.  You have one year to successfully complete all assessment processes after which MK Pilates reserve the right to request attendance of elements of the course and may apply charges for this and any re-assessments after the one year period is over.

  • If a Michael King Pilates multiple choice theory paper has not been completed you may be asked to complete this on the second weekend or at another agreed time to achieve your certification. As every situation is individual your Training Centre or Tutor will be able to discuss this with you but MK Pilates Administration will make the final decision as to whether the paper is required.  This element covers general Anatomy and Physiology areas to a Health and Fitness entry level standard of knowledge.

NOTE: The elements of assessment can be worked on consecutively with the assessment processes for Part One and Part Two Matwork.  You are encouraged but not required to submit paperwork for an additional 5 clients and these clients can be trained concurrently but not in the same sessions.
